Watering in wind
Wind dries new turf out sooner than you'd expect, even on a cloudy day. Water it the day you lay it until it's soaked through, then keep it damp every day for the first two weeks. Lift a corner now and then: if the soil underneath is dry, it needs more. Water early in the morning or in the evening, when less of it blows away.
