Coastal gardens: the first fortnight
Lawns in Tynemouth, Cullercoats, Whitley Bay, Roker and Seaburn get a good sea breeze, and wind dries new turf faster than you'd think.
Water little and often
Soak it on the day it's laid, then keep it damp every day for the first two weeks. Early morning or evening is best, when less blows away.
Check underneath
Lift a corner now and then. If the soil below is dry, it needs more water.
Plan it round a changeover
Find a gap
A couple of weeks between guests gives the new lawn time to root before it's used.
Order for day one
Pick the first open date in the gap and add access notes for the property.
Lay, water, rest
Lay it on the day, water well, and keep feet off while the roots take hold.

Do you deliver to Tynemouth and Whitley Bay?
Yes, North Tyneside is on our delivery round, along with South Shields and the Sunderland coast. Check your postcode in the basket for the options for your street.
Can guests use the lawn straight away?
It's best kept off while it roots, usually the first couple of weeks. That's why a gap between bookings works well.
Can I order a small amount for a courtyard?
Yes. Order any size from 5 m², or pick our 10 m² Back Yard Pack.
