Three front gardens we see a lot
-
The strip under the bay
Often just a few square metres. Measure along the wall and out to the path.
-
The lawn behind a low wall
A neat square or rectangle. Measure inside the wall for the exact size.
-
The open-plan front
Common on estates in Washington and Jarrow. Agree the edge with your neighbour before you measure.
Neat edges, step by step
Start at the path
Lay the first row along the straightest edge, usually the path.
Stagger the joints
Like brickwork, so the seams don't line up row to row.
Trim last
Lay rolls slightly past curves and walls, then cut back with a sharp knife.
Water well
Soak it on the day, then keep it damp while it roots.
Price and delivery
Turf starts from £4.60 a roll, 1 roll covers 1 m², and the price per roll drops on bigger orders. Doing the back as well? Add it in and order once.
You don't need to be in. Your turf is left at your property or the closest suitable and accessible point, in the most convenient place we reasonably can where it's possible and safe.

Can I order less than 10 m²?
Yes, any size from 5 m². Type it into the size box and the price updates as you go.
How do I get a straight edge along the path?
Lay the first row tight against the path, then work away from it. Trim any edges at the end with a sharp knife against a plank.
I'm at work on delivery day. Is that OK?
Yes. You don't need to be in. Add a note if there's a good spot to leave it, and we'll let you know once it's been delivered.
